Reiki literally translates to spiritual energy or universal life force energy.

Reiki is also refers to the name of the system and methods for connecting life force energy with the body’s innate healing ability.

Walking The Path of Reiki- A Letter to my Students

Take a deep breath with me…and slowly exhale.... And again.....And again.

Notice how it feels when you slow down the breath, the body, the mind. For me, it’s as if time itself softens — everything slows, yet something within me awakens. Stepping onto the path of Reiki feels much the same. It is a commitment to live aware — with compassion, love, and presence — deeply connected to your true essence.

Naturally, the journey begins with cultivating compassion and love for yourself. Reiki is, at its heart, a practice of self-healing, self-responsibility, and inner growth. Mikao Usui’s teachings were never about adding something new, but about remembering what we already are — uncovering our true nature by working with Ki (life force energy) and the using the elements of Reiki to dissolve the layers shaped by experience and conditioning.

As you begin to drink from the limitless well of Ki, you realize you must fill your own cup before you can truly give to others. Through self-healing, meditation, and daily practice, you begin to nourish your spirit, embody the Reiki precepts, and heal deep wounds and trauma. Over time, the body lightens, emotional charges release, and your heart naturally expands in capacity to hold compassion for others.

And then you understand — self-healing was never just about you. Like a stone cast into a still lake, your healing ripples outward — touching family, friends, community, and beyond.

The love and compassion you’ve cultivated within yourself radiates effortlessly outward. Your ability to hold space for others becomes second nature because you’ve already met those tender places within your own being.

As you continue on this path, remember the practices that ground and sustain you, the love that is you, and trust that Reiki will guide you every step of the way. Reiki is not only a healing art — it is a way of life. I believe it has become a household name to plant seeds for a way forward as we build a new world in these transition times.

I am here to support you. My hope is that, with guidance, you’ll cultivate a steady spiritual practice and attune to the wisdom that lives within the energetic field of Reiki itself. Continue to lean into the love and grace of our lineage — Mikao Usui, Chujiro Hayashi, Hawayo Takata, and all the teachers who came before — to gently guide your journey. But most importantly, always check back in with yourself and connect with your own deep inner wisdom and let your intuition lead the way.
